This article teaches you how to properly clean up different types of dartboards.
I recently noticed that my dartboard looks a bit dim, and some areas seem to be covered with dust. It certainly doesn’t look as good as it used to be. So, I decided to study the best way to clean up the dartboard.
If you spend a lot of money on dartboard, one of the worst things is to see that your dartboard is not as beautiful as the day you bought it, so I did a little research.
Cleaning your dartboard depends on many different situations. For example, whether you have an electronic dartboard or not, Bristle dartboards determine the steps you need to take.
So, let’s take a look at how to clean up the dartboard according to different situations.
How to Clean a Bristle Dartboard
Bristle dartboards are currently the most commonly used dartboards in the world. Sisal fiber is composed of millions of tightly packed sisal fibers extracted from agave. In order to extend their lifespan, the steel dartboard needs proper maintenance.
So, how can we ensure that Bristle dartboards are properly cleaned without causing any unnecessary damage? We will explain in detail here.
First, if possible, remove the metal frame. This will make the entire cleaning process very easy, and it will help to remove any excess dirt or dust that may have built up under the frame.
You may find that you cannot remove the frame, which is usually older boards, and newer boards should allow you to remove the frame and the numbers surrounding the board enclosure.
However, once the frame is removed, just take a vacuum or a stiff brush and walk across the surface of the board. This should help clear or relax larger soil layers that may have accumulated over time.
Next, wipe the surface with a dry cloth to remove excess dust. This is where removing the frame makes the whole process much easier.
Finally, check whether the board has black or gray areas, which are usually signs of dust, and then repeat the steps in these areas until there is no dust on the board.
Finally, remember not to use water when cleaning the dartboard, especially the dartboard. Because this will cause the fiber to expand, which causes the fiber to separate from the board itself, causing expansion.
How to clean Electronic Dartboard safely
What you need to prepare: fabric and cotton swabs
Since the Electronic Dartboard is made of plastic, cleaning the Electronic Dartboard target should not be too troublesome.
All we need to do to clean an electronic board is to first place a flat surface on the Dart board and simply take a dry cloth to wipe its surface. This should help remove any dust.
You may find that most of the dust is on the top or back of the dartboard, just wipe it with a cloth.
Once you have removed the dust on the surface, find any area of the board that has accumulated dirt. Once again, take your cloth, apply some pressure on this area, and do circular motions. This should help remove excess dirt.
Finally, since electronic dartboards rely on tiny sensors located in tiny holes in the board to work, it is important that these holes do not have dust or dirt. Because this will cause the sensors in these holes to be blocked, or worse, to be damaged.
To prevent this from happening, you can poke inside each cotton swab with a cotton swab and then twist it. After doing this a few times, you should notice dirt on the end of the swab.
How often should you clean up your Dartboard?
Contrary to what you think, you don’t actually need to clean your dartboard as often as you think. In fact, you never need to clean your dartboard completely. On the contrary, if you use your board frequently, we recommend that you check it after each use and wipe off the dust or excess dust accumulated on the board due to pulling out the drts.
Electronic dartboards are the easiest and fastest way to clean, because a simple wipe of the board is enough. This only takes a few seconds.
Can you soak Dartboard?
This is a problem I often encounter. However, I want to clarify this issue here. Never soak the dartboard or even spray mist on the surface of the board. Never let your dartboard be exposed to water.
For a long time, people have been recommending soaking your dart target or spraying water on the surface of your dartboard regularly to extend its life and prevent it from drying out. However, this is far from the truth.
Exposing your dartboard to water will cause the fibers to swell, causing bulging, and spiders rising from the surface.
We hope we have covered all the options when it comes to How to Clean a Dartboard and good conditions. However, if you think I might have missed something, such as a cleaning technique that you use more effectively, please let us know in the comments.
